As HR leaders know too well, where there’s hype, there’s also havoc. Employees are asking, “Are DOGE checks real?” and “Will I get the DOGE check?” or “When will the doge checks be sent out,” every morning they login to work. So, is the DOGE stimulus check coming? Maybe. The scams? That’s a definite, yes.

The latest DOGE check news isn’t just about eligibility or release dates, it’s about spike in DOGE stimulus check scams. Last week, the IRS flagged a massive surge in fake $1,400 stimulus check texts. Of course, it was people who asked, “When can we expect to receive our $1,400 stimulus check?” falling prey to it. The IRS found phishing emails promising DOGE dividend payments flooding employees’ inboxes. HR for professionals, this is no longer a sidebar story. It’s a major crisis because it’s more than just stolen workplace data and drained accounts at stake here.

This may impact 60% of low-income Americans earning under $40,000 – the folks who don’t file taxable returns. This DOGE check eligibility gap is a scammer’s goldmine.
