Most job interview questions tend to be so run-of-the-mill that often all we can come up with is a scripted response. An interview is supposed to be a two-way conversation between two people. In most cases though, interviews end up asking the most common interview questions to such an extent that candidates are left with a scarce opportunity to give justice to their answers. Here are some of the most common interview questions and answers:
You only need to speak about work related stuff. Don’t dwell further into personal details unless the hiring manager asks you.
Always respond positively to show gratitude when you’re asked this question. You don’t need to be factual and speak out harsh responses like, “I’m former boss is an ill tempered woman who cannot be happy with any of my designs.”
If you had a penny for every time you are asked this question. Anyway, take this as a golden opportunity to market your skills. Also, be prepared with apt instances that reflect on all your strengths.
Don’t sit down and list all your personality disorders. The answer to this question should show self-awareness and honesty. Give an example of something you’re struggling with, but are working on to improve.
Your response to this question should be such that you are able to send the message that you need this job as much as the company does.
Explain previous instances in which you thrived under pressure. Choose an answer that shows that you seek thrill at work.
Don’t beat around the bush; be honest and specific about your answer. At the same time, you don’t need to force yourself to align your future goals with the company’s. Always be practical when you’re navigating through a question like this.
