Jobs for Women Over 50 without a Degree

Before she was the world’s most coveted bridal wear designer, Vera Wang was a competitive figure skater and a journalist. Martha Stewart was a stockbroker in her 30s before she turned to gourmet cooking and creative presentation. Grandma Moses didn’t start painting until she was 76!

The point is, you shouldn’t be afraid to embark on new careers or want a career change. Some women over 50 seek employment due to divorce, the death of a spouse, or wanting to fill the gap of an empty house.

What’s more, employers value the reliability and experience that mature workers bring to the workplace. Women over 50 bring a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and experience. According to a survey released by the American Institute of Economic Research, older women who seek career change are often successful.

If you’re over the age of 50 without a college degree, you might still be able to pursue a career. You may feel discouraged that you’re at a disadvantage applying for a job without having a degree. This doesn’t mean you should discount yourself from applying for a job role. Here are a few jobs for women over 50 that don’t require on-the-job experience or a college degree:

As you can see, there are a ton of jobs for women over 50 that don’t necessarily require a degree. Use your knowledge and wisdom in your interviews. You may even consider taking online classes or going back to school if you want to build some new skills.

Remember, it’s never too late to start your career.  When it comes to work there’s certainly no age limit! Explore your career path, it doesn’t matter whether you’re 50, 60, 70 or beyond!
