Jobless Claims Remain Low as Omicron Ebbs

States reported that 248,000 workers filed for new unemployment benefits during the week ending Feb. 12, an increase of 23,000 from the previous week’s revised level. New jobless claims have hovered around pre-pandemic levels since the end of 2021.
