Is ‘Taking a Knee’ a Protected Activity Under Labor Law?

Players in the National Football League (NFL) have recently drawn considerable attention for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police violence against black Americans. Some people support the protest, while others call for the NFL to fire players who participate—but the players may be engaging in protected concerted activity.
