Sending a formal thank you note to your colleagues for any help extended is polite and builds a sense of camaraderie, and shows gratitude and appreciation.
While writing a thank you note to a coworker, it need not be overly formal (then it loses the purpose); a causal friendly tone will be appreciated.
When writing the thank you note, one needs to keep certain things in mind.
Here we bring you some templates of thank you email notes to send to co-workers:

Dear name,
Thank you so much for taking out time to meet me yesterday at my request to clear doubts on my current project.
I had hit a roadblock and could not find the right answer in how to incorporate the client’s design in the final draft.
The hurdle was delaying the project and I was unable to push the design forward to the engineering department to carry it forward.
The way you patiently listened and worked with me to work out an agreeable design solution was extremely fruitful.
Thanks to your contribution, the project could move along and were able to meet out deadline. Please let me know if and when I can return the favor.
Again, a sincere thanks for extending your time and patience in helping me out.
Sincerely,

Dear name of the recipient,
This note is in appreciation of the tremendous help you were in handling the training sessions this weekend.
You and your team took out precious time from your weekly off to volunteer for the sessions.
The training was well thought out, and the modules were structured and informative. You made sure that you were available all the time for the two days and that the training went on smoothly, without any hassles.
Since you gave up your weekly off for this, I would ask you to take off from work in the coming week to recuperate and relax.
I am sure the training will benefit the company as a whole, and I have let the management know how extremely helpful you’ve been to me and our team If I can help you at all in the future, please let me know.
Regards,

Dear (Name),
This letter is in appreciation of the great leadership skills you have demonstrated repeatedly while helping out our team.
You went out of your way to show support and belief in our work. You took time out of your daily schedule to go over our project, make suggestions, and hold our hand throughout the project cycle. Your belief in our work and team motivated us to raise the bar of performance even higher. As a result, we were able to finish the project way before the deadline, which qualified us for great incentives.
The great example you have set made the entire team make an effort to work harder and perform exceptionally well in achieving our goals. You always are a great inspiration for the whole company and do let me and the team know if we can reciprocate in any way.
Again a big thank you,
Sincerely,
The abc team
Signatures of everyone involved.
