Not everyone will be supportive when a new diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiative is announced. The people who oppose it may be met with hostility, rejection or avoidance, and some may call for those people to be “canceled.” These negative assessments and the negative feelings and emotions they generate will undermine the overall DE&I initiative, writes columnist Jathan Janove. Make an effort to hear–and include–everyone, Janove advises.
