New Federal Rules Will Let Patients Put Medical Records on Smartphones

Federal officials on released rules that will let patients download their electronic health records (EHRs) and other health care data onto their smartphones, effective in 2022. Officials hope to end the practice of some doctors and hospitals not giving patients access to their complete medical files.
