Florida Governor Argues for Mandatory E-Verify

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is urging state lawmakers to approve legislation requiring all employers in the state to use E-Verify, the federal web-based system that confirms individuals’ eligibility to work in the United States. It is currently only required of the state’s public-sector agencies and federal government contractors. DeSantis wants to expand that requirement to private employers.
