Viewpoint: The Biden Administration Didn’t Ban Employee Noncompetes

President Joe Biden recently issued an executive order that broadly addresses “promoting competition in the American economy.” The order indicated that some noncompetes may be unfair, but the order itself did nothing to change the enforceability of such agreements, which are generally governed by state law.
