Workers Quit to Start New Businesses

More than 4.5 million new businesses were started in 2021–many by employees who left companies to strike out on their own. While employers are struggling to retain workers during the Great Resignation, they also understand and commend their former colleagues’ entrepreneurial spirit. And sometimes, the change benefits both parties.
