New Jobless Claims Fall Again

States reported that 166,000 workers filed for new unemployment benefits during the week ending April 2, one of the lowest totals of new jobless claims since the pandemic began. The previous week’s number of news claims was revised down from 202,000 to 171,000. One year ago, over 600,000 workers were initiating new unemployment claims.
