Making Your Employer Brand More Appealing

Corporate branding has gone beyond just attracting consumers, considering recent trends and business demands. Lots of companies now lay emphasis on their employer brand; it’s a great tool in attracting and retaining skilled employees.

You are likely to lose the best job candidates to your competitors if they are winning the branding battle. Hence, there is a need to revamp your corporate brand, making it more appealing.

Here are a few strategies to make your employer brand more appealing.

1.     Try experiential interview design

Generally, most interviews comprised of lots of talks (largely questions and answers). Interviewers use this approach to identify the potential employee’s performance. However, it doesn’t always turn out to be accurate.  Rather than repeat the talk sequence, try organizing a practical interview with your current team members. Let them give a practical assignment to prospective new hires. This will give the interviewee a chance to experience your company’s brand in action.

In your next interview design, consider including experiential and participatory aspects for your potential hires. Stage a candidate to attend to a customer either by call or facially. You can also give them immediate tasks to perform on the spot. By this method, candidates can show and not tell you only what they are capable of doing.

2.     Let your job candidates and employees be guests

With technology, interviewing has gone beyond just physical presence. From social recruiting, video interviewing and gamified onboarding, candidates’ experience has increasingly changed. However, importance must be laid on using physical presence experience to woo candidates and excite employees. Incorporate approach like welcoming lobby fixtures and reminiscent of a hotel or museum to your interview schedule will show how unique, inviting, and engaging your company is. It also shows that your team also does experience what it provides.

If affordable, try integrating media and technology into your company’s physical spaces, which will send a welcoming message to your visitors, employees and recruits. With an interactive timeline, you can tell your brand’s story and of course, employee achievements. All these will make your company welcoming while also making your corporate brand more appealing.

3.     Invest in personnel and personal development

For every company that wants its brand to be more appealing, its employee development is a worthy venture. Creating and investing good money in employee training inform applicants how much you care about their professional growth. Remember, most employees will join you as potential best players; your investment in them will engage their true skills and worth. Your investment in employees has a way of earning you their loyalty.

Reviewing your company’s core beliefs and values, will give you reasons for staff training and development. Create and engage them in designed coursework for their development.

4.     Stage your satisfied employees

Do you have employees who are satisfied with your brands? Then use them to achieve your aim. No one does the job of company advocacy than satisfied employees; they amazingly boost corporate brand. Identify within your ranks for these company die-hard fans and channel their passion towards building your employer brand better. They may unsurprisingly provide more irresistible attraction for potential employees than any other package could. Consider having successful stories of your employees on your company blog and allow them to have a say on the social media platforms.
