Job Creation in April Disappoints

U.S. hiring activity fell significantly in April, as employers added only 266,000 new jobs, mostly in leisure and hospitality, according to the latest employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Economists expected to see over 1 million new jobs added last month, as more people get vaccinated and the economy reopens more broadly.
