House-Passed Opioid Bill Shifts Costs to Employer Plans

The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to address the opioid crisis but an employer coalition, generally supportive of the bill, has raised objections to a funding provision that could increase employers’ health plan costs for unrelated end-of-life care by changing Medicare’s secondary payer rules.
