HHS Nondiscrimination Proposal on Gender Procedures, Abortions Meets Resistance

A proposed Health and Human Services (HHS) rule to expand the Affordable Care Act’s Section 1557 nondiscrimination provisions is being opposed by conservatives in Congress who say it would require plans to cover gender-transition treatments and abortions.
