California Court Upholds $3.7M Verdict in Disability Bias Lawsuit

The California Court of Appeal upheld a jury verdict for more than $3.7 million in compensatory damages to a Rite Aid store manager. The jury had found that the company wrongfully discharged the worker based on his disability in violation of the state’s Fair Employment and Housing Act.
