Amid Labor Shortages, Some States Opt Out of Enhanced Jobless Benefits

Montana will end federally subsidized $300-a-week expanded unemployment benefits in favor of a one-time $1,200 bonus for Montanans who re-enter the workforce, as some business owners nationwide say enhanced jobless benefits have curtailed the labor supply. South Carolina also said it will end supplemental federal jobless benefits for its residents.
