Agencies Give Tax Filing and 401(k) Withdrawal Relief to Hurricane Irma Victims

The IRS, the Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. announced tax and benefit plan filing relief for businesses affected by Hurricane Irma, and will allow 401(k) and similar plans to expedite loans and hardship distributions to victims and members of their families. Congress may consider additional tax relief for 401(k) withdrawals in disaster areas.
