When essential workers were called to stay on the job to fight the coronavirus, a significant problem quickly surfaced: Who would take care of their children? Every state that issued stay-at-home orders to fight the spread of COVID-19 now has some provision for providing childcare to essential workers, although the type of assistance varies greatly.
